An hour up the motorway from Bristol is Cheltenham, a pretty town near the Cotswolds. My old mate Don became a successful orthopaedic surgeon here, and lives with his wife Brenda in an old house with a spectacular view.

Setting off on eBikes to explore the Cotswolds. The electric bikes work by augmenting your pedalling efforts; put in one pound and the bike contributes anything up to four pounds. Makes hill-climbing much easier.
