Coimbra

Coimbra prep here.

We drove north from Lisbon to Coimbra.

Vineyards in the Portuguese countryside.

Plenty of wind power, old and new.

Fishing boats at Peniche

This is close to Nazaré, famous for big wave surfing.

Bruce and Annie Stewart, previously owners of a Seawind 1160 catamaran like our Nimrod. We had been tracking each other on social media as we each explored Europe and planned to meet up with them. Some fun time together in Coimbra.

Coimbra is famous for its university, one of the world's oldest, which was originally founded in Lisbon in 1290. It was subsequently relocated several times before being permanently established in Coimbra in 1537.
